Emanuel County Schools is deeply saddened by the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene. We continue to pray that the families in our and neighboring communities remain safe.

Beginning Friday, several staff members began assessing the conditions of our campuses. Once power has been restored and before schools can reopen, there are countless safety and operational factors to be considered, emergency management, transportation, and school nutrition, just to name a few.

Due to these factors, Emanuel County Schools will remain closed September 30 through October 4, 2024. It is our hope that students and staff will be able to return on Monday, October 7, 2024. Please monitor our website, Facebook page, and Kinvo communications for updates. It is our intention to issue an update by noon on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

We appreciate the combined efforts of Emanuel County's community leaders and Emanuel County School district and school leaders and support staff who have juggled professional and personal responsibilities in the midst of this unprecedented event.
